Keeping one's garden safe from critters and wild animals is always a problem, but doing it in an environmentally-friendly manner is even more difficult. This is the reason why the people from Sundance Solar have come up with a device that will most likely scare away pests, and possibly even humans, namely the Swamp Eyes Solar Alligator.
The main purpose of this environmentally-friendly deterrent is to keep away fish-eating birds like geese, herons, egrets, ducks and small animals without actually harming them, both during the day and during the night. For this purpose, the device has been given the shape of an alligator's head, a predator feared by most wild animals.
The product's design is very elaborate, the Swamp Eyes Solar Alligator being very life-like. Moreover, its working principle is also very interesting: the device sports a photoelectric cell, and whenever it detects a very low level of light (namely, in the evening), the LED lights fitted within the eye sockets light up and glow like a live gator when hit by light, thus scaring away the animals.
Another interesting thing about the Swamp Eyes Solar Alligator is the fact that it's completely self-sufficient, as it sports a small solar panel that charges the device's internal batteries. Moreover, it measures 25.4 x 22.86 x 22.86 centimeters, not exactly the size of a real alligator's head, but not that far either.
The Swamp Eyes Solar Alligator from Sundance Solar is available for around 40-50 US dollars, which is quite a small price to pay for keeping one's garden safe from wild birds and animals.
