Barbecues are extremely popular all the year around, and that is why the number of grill-models available on the market increases from year to year. And one such model is the Patio Fireplace/Grill/Smoker created by Landmann and presented by the people from Hammacher Schlemmer in th first half of 2007.
The “device”, if we can call it that, can be used as a charcoal grill, a wood-burning smoker, or as an outdoor fireplace. However, the greatest thing about it is the fact that it provides a huge cooking surface, compared to how much of your backyard it will actually occupy. Thus, the fireplace/grill/smoker occupies a surface of only 1.85 square meters, while the tiered cooking surfaces reach a total area of around 127 square meters.
The fireplace also comes with a porcelain enameled bowl that sits just above the fire and catches rendered fat before it drips onto the fire (preventing flame-ups that can burn food). Moreover, the bowl can be filled with water, broth, or wine, thus adding moisture to meats while they cook. The fireplace also incorporates 6 porcelain grills that can be removed, thus allowing the users to hang large primal cuts vertically from the meat hook on the grill smoker's ceiling.
This multi-purpose grilling device also incorporates an exterior temperature gauge that gives precise grill temperature readings while the doors are closed, adjustable vents for regulating heat and smoke, as well as a removable ash pan (for ease of cleaning) and a metal screen that keeps the sparks inside the fireplace when the bottom doors are open.
The multipurpose Landmann Fireplace/Grill/Smoker presented by Hammacher Schlemmer is available for around 80 US dollars, which is a very small price to pay for a device that can take care of all the user's outdoor cooking needs.
